VBA appliance configuration
Hi,
I have been configuring a VBA appliance and had an issue with testing the connection between the Vcenter and VBA appliance.
In our company we use a standard username and password that is used for configuring Avamar appliances but is doesn't have administrator rights.
When i try to configure the VBA appliance with this username the connection fails until i set the the username with administrator rights.
My question is why are the privileges different for a Avamar appliance and a VBA appliance when connecting to a Vcenter?
It is essentially the same product?

There are significant architectural differences between VBA and core Avamar, especially with regard to management and user interface. VBA backups and restores are managed primarily through a vSphere plug-in and I believe installing vSphere plug-ins requires administrative privileges.
