This is a known issue after applying MCS patches (specifically 52094).

Resolution:

To resume Avamar Admin GUI's restore functionality, please login to Avamar server via Winscp or any secure file copy program as user root.

Browse to

/srv/www/htdocs/mc/lib (for SLES) or

/var/www/html/mc/lib (for RHEL)

on Avamar server  using winscp and copy all the file to
    Windows - C:\Program Files\avs\administrator\6.1.1.87\lib
    Linux - /usr/local/avamar/6.1.1-87/lib
overriding the existing files.

Note: You may want to backup the Avamar Administrator installation directory before replacing it with the new jar files.

Optionally, you can use Java Web Start Launcher to start the Avamar client if you have several different grids and not all of them have the patch applied.

Okay. This is bug with avamar 6.1.1-87.

To over come this issue follow the below work around-

  • To resolve this you will need to copy some library files from the Avamar server to the Administrator Console installation.
  • To correct this in an installed Administrator Console, you will need to SCP (winSCP works fine) to the server, and copy the contents of /srv/www/htdocs/mc/lib to C:\Program Files\avs\administrator\6.1.1.87\lib.  It is a good idea to back-up the contents of C:\Program Files\avs\administrator\6.1.1.87\lib before the new files are copied over, in case there is a problem with the copy.  Once these files have been copied over and replaced the files in the Administrator Console install, you can re-run the Administrator Console and will not receive any errors.

Alternatively, you could load the Administrator Console from the server itself, in which case you will not need to change anything.

Note that this is not the only possible cause of this issue. Using mismatched client versions (e.g. trying to use the 6.1.1-87 console with a 6.1.2-46 grid) will also cause this issue.
