Multiple ddrmaint.bin processes on Avamar node
Trying to troubleshoot some issues on an Avamar node (integrated with Data Domain) that is at the primary site of a customer and has been having some issues.
There is another Avamar node (integrated with Data Domain) that is at the secondary site, which has not been having such issues.
One thing I am noticing is that while the secondary Avamar node only shows one ddrmaint.bin process running, the primary Avamar node currently has 12 ddrmaint.bin processes running.
One of the ddrmaint processes on the primary appears to have a similar parent process to the single one on the secondary, but all of the other ddrmaint processes on the primary have a different parent.
Wondering if this might have something to do with some difficulties we have been experiencing the last couple of times we had to shut down the GSAN, and eventually needed a rollback. We checked for outstanding sessions and could not see any via the typical commands from Avamar - but we never checked for other processes. And FWIW, I don't recall seeing any indication in the GSAN logs that would have pointed to the ddrmaint.bin processes.
Regardless of whether it has to do with the GSAN shutdown issue or not, anyone have any idea why we are seeing so many ddrmaint.bin processes on one node, but not on the other? How many should we expect at any given time anyway?
All comments/feedback appreciated - thanks.
