If you have Data Protection Central, that has some important reports ready to go, including a Daily Backups report etc.

But the ultimate answer is Data Protection Advisor.

DPA has more than a thousand built-in Reports and Alerts which can be used as is or can be customized. It takes a little effort to get it setup initially, but it is well worth it.
