Email notification of complete Restore
Hi,
I am running Avamar 7.1.1-145
2 part question:
1) Is there an way to configure Avamar to send an email to me when the restore is completed? I know I can check the activity report, but would be nice not to have to watch it.
2) Similar to the above. If there an easy way to add an email address for the individual restore job of the person that requested the restore?
Thanks
-Dusty

I reviewed the list of event codes and it looks like there is no specific event code for restore completion. The event code 30000 is "activity completed successfully" which is also triggered by successful backups. I don't see an easy way to do this, unfortunately.

hi,
Regarding 1st query you can try creating Event profile in Avamar and explore the option to generate alerts for events as they occur. Also you can check out this link
https://community.emc.com/message/721843
Or else you can also try creating a report and send it via email as an attachment with the help of event profile . This report can include restore status. the built in Activities Success report can help , you can filter it to include only restore activities.
I didnt quite understand the second query , you want to send an email notification to end user?.

I looked at that link and didn't see anything around Restore Complete. What I really want is an email to trigger once the job finishes.
The 2nd question I would like to basically add a CC to the job complete email that would get sent to the user that requested the restore job.
I don't see much so I don't think that Avamar has any of these functions.

Hi,
If you enabled email notifications, then specify whether to send email notifications as
soon as events occur or on a scheduled basis:
To send email notifications as soon as events occur, select Send data as events
occur.
You can try this.

Thanks everyone. I didn't see any way to do it around restores only. I was hoping I was missing something, but you confirmed what I saw.
