Deploy Avamar on VMWare without gateway ping?

The default gateway is not responding to ping, allegedly "for security reasons".

As a result, avenetconfig throws a warning, but then says an error has occurred.


After this we rebooted as usual, and of course the avenetconfig restarted itself.

My question is, is there a "no ping" flag for avenetconfig like there is for avregister or is it a no go and the end Customer needs to enable gateway ping?
