Delete a policy already created without affect the current backups
Hi Dell Avamar Experts,
I am new on avamar and here is my situation:
The Policy "POL VM Daily WebApps" ran 1 month ago with 16 members without issue. Today I saw all backups with this error:
log#1: 2023-03-21 00:11:55 avtar Error <41439>: Using invalid token:5ba93c9db0cff93f52b521d7420e43f6eda2784f
log#1: 2023-03-21 00:11:55 avtar Error <10542>: Data Domain server "ABC" open failed DDR result code: 4904, desc: Invalid API argument.
log#1: 2023-03-21 00:11:55 avtar Error <10509>: Problem logging into the DDR server:'', only GSAN communication was enabled.
log#1: 2023-03-21 00:11:55 avtar FATAL <17964>: Backup is incomplete because file "/ddr_files.xml" is missing
log#1: 2023-03-21 00:11:55 avtar FATAL <8941>: Fatal server connection problem, aborting initialization. Verify correct server address and login credentials.
The only change that I did yesterday was modifying the name of the Policy ... ups! fatal error!
I tried to leave the previous name.. but other error occurred while updating policy:
Code: 22540
Category: application
Software source: MCS:BS
Severity: process
Summary: Invalid name character or name is too long
Error Message: Update group failed
So... I would like to know if these actions will be ok without affect the current backups, these is the plan:
1. Disable the policy involved to avoid run today again according to the schedule.
2. Create a new Policy with a name without symbols.
3. Move the VMs whose had backup failed to a new policy and run the policy.
4. Delete the policy disabled
What do you think? any suggestions?
