Data migration to Avamar

First off, to clarify your question - you are asking if you can import/migrate existing backup data from PPDM into Avamar?   For that, I do not think this is possible.  Avamar would need to register any additional clients and add them as new clients.

For either one, I would suggest getting in touch with your account or sales rep for more details.

Just to clarify your question:  you wish to migrate data off of an existing PPDM appliance into an Avamar appliance?  I do not believe there is any easy means to do this, but not sure.  Avamar would need to gain the client data from PPDM, add to its configuration and be able to then read the backup data.  I am not sure Avamar is able to do this?

@Bob_at_Dell​ Hey Bob, thanks for the answer. For clarification, yes the data is from existing PPDM which is we backup to Data Domain virtual edition. We are planning to get rid off our PPDM but we need to keep the data with long term retention. We have Avamar + DD running on different site, so we are looking into the possibility of migrating those data.
