AVE vs a physical Avamar Node

I am assisting a customer in evaluating AVE vs a physical Avamar Node (M600).  Would they loose anything by going virtual?

Environment:

• Unity 300 all flash, 30TB. They are using both block and file portions, and have a large CIFS environment.
• Two sites. Block and file will be replicated between Arrays. DR is passive, array has same config,
• File will be replicated via Unity to the DR site
• FC connected to a Cisco MDS
• DD data Domain /Avamar combo (they can choose between AVE or an M600 node with 10GB)
• 100% virtualized with Vmware, RP For VMS
• Law firm with low performance needs and lots of documents
