AVE 19.4 fresh install, avinstaller not accepting root / changeme
Hi all,
I am trying to deploy AVE 19.4 latest version, freshly downloaded from dell.com on the newest vCenter 6.5 patchlevel, from .ovf. I have the correct forward / reverse DNS entries and correct system times.
The problem is that the default gateway is not responding to ping, allegedly "for security reasons". I am assured it is not just to make my life hard.
As a result, avenetconfig throws a warning, but then says an error has occurred.
Is this a showstopper?
The problem is when I browse to the AVInstaller page, it refuses to accept root / changeme, even though it's a brand new installation and I just used root / changeme to set the network parameters!
AVE 19.4 initial boot config
AVE 19.4 fresh install refusing root / changeme

I strongly recommend using the OVA, not the OVF. It will make your life much easier.

Fixed by ditching the vSphere Web Client and deploying the OVF using ovftool from a Linux host command line!
