Avamar with Quantum DXi configuration questions

Hello,

I had a question from a SE about if Avamar can integrate with Quantum DDXi on the backend (similar to a DD) via Boost, instead of DD?

I did find from a Avamar Compatibility guide (dated 2015) that Avamar supports the below Quantum DXi models:

Quantum Lib DXi 3500

Quantum Lib DXi 5500

Quantum Lib DXi 6700

Quantum Lib DXi 6701

Quantum Lib DXi 6702

Quantum Lib DXi 7500

Quantum LIB DXi 8500

Quantum Lib DXi 8500 2TB

I am not able to answer the following follow up question that I am hoping someone can please answer:

If it is an Avamar/DXi configuration. is the DD Boost protocol (OST) supported? Is there any special type of license required to use an Avamar/DXi configuration?
