Avamar v7.5 Exchange install issues - user config tool hangs, config checker does not run
Working on a brand new implementation of Avamar v7.5 on a test Exchange server (Avamar client/plugin backups), and running into some challenges:
1) The Backup User config tool launched successfully when the customer ran it under one of their administrator accounts, but the "configure" button was greyed out - to me, this seemed to possibly be a privilege issue, so I asked him to use another account (which brings us to ...)
2) The Backup User config tool launched when he ran it under a different administrator account but then "hung" with a progress bar displaying no text but a bar that was about 1/3 complete - still a privilege issue? (the program eventually timed out from waiting for whatever it was that was going on)
3) Relative to those issues, we installed and ran the Avamar Config Checker tool - but it effectively "crashed" and displayed a lot of error information in doing so
Unfortunately, the customer had limited time to work on the implementation this morning, so we didn't have time to investigate further - but we are reconvening this afternoon and I figured I'd post this to see if anyone else has run into anything similar. FWIW, we didn't have time yet to check any of the logs that would have info from the respective tools.
Haven't found anything relative to searches here or on the Support site, but we all know how that goes (if one doesn't ask the right question, one probably won't get the right answer ...).
All comments/feedback appreciated - thanks.

Any kind of info on what interferes with proper execution of the Backup User Configuration Tool or the Avamar Config Checker would be appreciated here.
As well as any elaboration on the vagueness of "Log in to the Exchange server as a domain administrator".
(because I would venture to say that I get either blank stares or twenty questions 50% of the time I tell customers to do this)

This is an old post but I ran across the same issue today.
The solution for me was to right click and "Run as Administrator"
