Avamar Restores doubles the Progress bytes

Hello everyone,

I don't know if this happens just to us, but when we create a new recovery task of any vm in AVAMAR, The progress bytes doubles the size of the original backup to end the task.

For example:

- If we restore a vm wich backup size is of 40 gb, the progress bytes of the restore goes up to 80 gb until is finished.

Why this happends?

is this normal?

Thanks in advance to everyone that can help us.

greetings from Costa Rica

yes it is normal. During recovery, Avamar need to write data on temporary snapshot and then to disk because of which it shows double progress bytes of data of backup.

no, its not "normal" its a misreport, and they should fix it, I consider it a bug.
If you have to process a byte two times to complete the task then divide it by two and display that.
but as i see it, the byte is not "processed" until it is in its final location, so yeah definitely a bug.
