Avamar protection for VMware Photon OS?
Hello community!
The Support site and Google both fail me. Does anyone know for sure if the Avamar Linux client will work (better yet: is supported) to protect a vCenter running on VMware's Photon OS? The only KBA (541474) I found that even mentions Photon just says that root user isn't set up by default. There isn't anything that says it's a supported version of Linux or that the Avamar client will work.
If it is supported, which client package is required? RedHat, SuSE, CentOS, Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu? I didn't find anything on VMware's site that said which version it was based on.
We're running Avamar 19.1 integrated with IDPA 2.5 - vCenter 6.7
Many thanks for your help!

I guess you are trying to backup your vCenters. There's a dedicated procedure for snapshoting and recovering the vcenters in the Avamar vmware integration guide.
Backup : make a separate policy and schedule for all your vcenters.
Recovery : depending if you are in HA or not, the procedure change (dismantle HA, recover vcenter, then recreate the HA).
