Avamar licencing check

Hi there,

Anyone know how I can check what licencing entitlement and consumption someone has with Avamar?

Thanks

You can check the amount of de-duplicated backup data an Avamar server is licensed for via the command line.  The value returned below is reporting in GB

admin@utilitynode:~/>: avmaint license --ava | grep protected-data-max

  protected-data-max="9216">

You can also check the total GSAN storage capacity and how much of that capacity is used with this command

admin@utilitynode:~/>: mccli server show-prop | grep -i capacity

Total capacity                   11.6 TB

Capacity used                    3.2 TB

The "Total capacity" is equivalent to the number of storage nodes and their size.  This example relates to a system with 3 x 3.9 TB nodes.

The "Capacity used" is the proportion of "Total capacity" that is consumed.

We can compare this with the "Server utilization" value

admin@utilitynode:~/proactive_check/>: mccli server show-prop | grep util

Server utilization               27.1%

Note that this example is from an internal lab system so the licensed capacity "protected-data-max" does not necessarily match the size of the system.

Your DellEMC account manager would be the best person to consult in the event you have any queries regarding the licensing figures for your system.

Also note that the Avamar Administrator GUI provides some of this information in Server > Server Management but does not display the amount of licensed capacity.
