Avamar Desktop/Laptop Client inconsistent connection time
We plan to deliver a company-wide backup solution for our laptops.
Problem: Our Avamar desktop/laptop clients are inconsistent when they try to connect to our Avamar server after connecting to our network or after disconnecting from a VPN. Using a test laptop, I found that it can take anywhere from 3 minutes to an entire hour before the client will give the green "online" status. Looking at the logs, it looks like the client goes into a timeout/delay if it can't connect to the server and will not attempt a connection until after the delay is finished. Here's an excerpt from the log of my tests.
Timeline of the test:
- I disconnected the laptop from the network at 2:51 PM
- Laptop client officially went offline at 2:55 PM
- Client did not reconnect until 3:01 PM
Would anyone be able to give any insight into how we can get rid of this delay so that our clients will consistently attempt a connection as soon as it has a path to our Avamar server? Thanks!
