Avamar and Exchange 2013 - restoring a database

Hi,

Yesterday we restored a single database "over the top" of one of our currently active databases via Avamar (not via RDB). The restore completed without error but we were then unable to log into a mailbox on the restored database via Outlook Web App (we'd checked that we were able to log in via OWA prior to the restore). We were however able to connect to mailboxes in the restored database via Outlook.

Is this normal? Does restoring a database break the connection between OWA and the databases? If so, how do you restore the connection?
