Avamar and Datadomain replication

Hi all,

i have two site:

site 1 Avamar A+ DatadomainA

site 2 Avamar B+ DatadomainB

DatadomainA

veth0: 192.168.1.20

hostname: ddbck.domain.net

veth1: 192.168.1.21

hostname: ddrepl.domain.net

DatadomainB

veth0: 192.168.2.20

hostname: ddbck.domain.net

veth1: 192.168.2.21

Each avamar have the respective DD added as default replication storage.

Each DD have two virtual interface, veth0 for backup and veth1 for replication.

I would that replicas perform from the dedicated interfaces, but in the Storage Mapping in Avamar Data Movement Policy show only the Datadomain that have added for bck (ddbck.domain.net).

How can i add the replication hostname and/or ip address for replication purpose?

Hi,

I must say this is really an interesting question.

So on DD, you have separate network for Backup and Replication. If this question was about the replication from DD to DD, it is simple to use replication network. But you are looking to use replication network on the DD with Avamar replication.

Here is what I understand, The Avamar and DD integration is done using backup network. So now all the data from Avamar to DD move through this network.

Do you have replication network setup on Avamar as well? If yes, then did you try adding destination Avamar using its replication network on the source Avamar? this will use replication network between source and target Avamar., but i believe target DD will still use backup network to receive the replication data.

Please let us know if you find more information on this. Thanks for sharing it here.
