Avamar ADS Gen4 Media Access Node as SAN storage
Hello
I was wondering if someone could please help answer the question below.
we have Avamar ADS Gen4 Media Access Node Server (100-580-622) with 24TB ship with SUSE Linux Enterprise OS
our company cancel the project of tape backup, so now we need need to take advantage on other things like we have our CISCO UCS with EMC VNX 5500 storage can we attached it with the Avamar environment
and use it as SAN or NAS either stand alone storage or data replication mode etc. ?
if yes what I need

Since you bought the node, you can do whatever you want with it but the only supported use for Avamar Media Access Nodes is running the Avamar Extended Retention software. I know some customers have re-purposed their media access nodes since they're reasonably powerful systems but Dell EMC does not provide support for this.
Also, please be aware that Gen4 will be going out of support soon. Once the hardware is out of support, it may not be possible to get parts.
