Avamar 7.4 vcenter sync question

We are using VM tagging and I have a question about when Avamar sync's with vcenter...

You can do a vcenter resync manually then check the rules are being matched.

how does sync work in relation to on-demand backups and scheduled?

We had an issue today where an on-demand backup group didnt pick up a new VM with a tag....
