An error occurred when building the list of proxies to service a job avamar

do all backup get this error or only one client get this error.

is it a vm client - I would assume yes as it is using a proxy.

have you verified that the server as an avail proxy?

Administration window find a proxy

right click/ Edit client

make sure the proxy(ies) have a check mark for the Datastore/host that the vm is in

if no proxy has access to the client, the backup cannot use a proxy

also verify that the group the vm is in is checked for the proxy.

Hello,I just  experienced  an issue is similar to your's.
please make sure your  avamar proxy  is registered to avamar server successfully.

ssh to your avamar server with  admin

dpnctl stop

dpnctl start

then start the backup job manually .

Hope it works.

You should always take a checkpoint before stopping the Avamar server. If the server does not come down cleanly for any reason, failing to take a checkpoint could lead to data loss.
