Adding Data Domain to Avamar - DDBoost user is disabled

Hello,

I am trying to add my Data Domain (DD890, DDOS 5.4.0.8) to Avamar 7.0 SP1(AVE). Keep getting this error message and i am not sure why.

I know account i use to in the "Add Data Domain System" wizard is DDboost enabled because we are currently using the same account with DDBoost for Oracle RMAN. I can also see it from the command line on DD

sysadmin@dd890ws1ad# ddboost show user-name

DD Boost user-name: dd890ws1adboost

So what could be the issue, does the ddboost account have to be specific name ?  Knowledge-base did not turn up any hits.

Thank you

problem solved, looks like in DDOS 5.4 there is no /backup/ost anymore so in order to grant ddboost permissions to a client you have to run this command:

ddboost access add clients

Hi,

I have the same trouble with NetWorker 8.1 SP1/VBA and DataDomain 5.4.0.8.

Boost is used by NetWorker, for another saves, whitout any problem but I have this message about user boost is disabled when I want to create a VBA policy.

Any help would be wonderfull...

Regads,

F@b

Take a look at your user right...

It must be Admin and not "user"

Tell me if I'm wrong please.

F@b, good pointer. I changed role from user to admin. Now Avamar is failing with message "Error Initializing lsu"

another thing, if  you are doing VM image backup with proxies, make sure to add proxy VMs to ddboost access list with command above.
