noobie question about OM API

Ok, I'm not a developer so I may not phrase this correctly.

Requirements:

1)

I need to pull specific pieces of data from OM (warranty information, row, rack, slot). Not wanting big canned report but I guess if its a csv dump we can mangle it and pull specifics from the csv but would prefer to just grab those items.

That data will then be put into Puppet as "facts" so we have single source of reporting.

2) Import info like row, rack, slot from a csv into OM indexing on Dell Service Tag and subsequently write information back to the individual iDracs

So my questions are as follows.

Are these appropriate tasks for REST API?  

If not, what would be?
