AppSync and Recoverpoint

We have an issue with our AppSync not connecting properly to our RPA's.  The connectivity test seems fine but all service plans fails during the application discovery phase as AppSync seems unable to get the LUN list from the RPA's.  This seems to be a constant when addressing vCenter servers and individual file systems but data base (SQL) service plans seems to be working, at least sporadically.

Our setup: 2 sites, each with a 4 node RP/EX cluster and a VNX2 array.

VNX arrays are on latest OE, RPA's running 4.1.2.  Latest version of AppSync.

Any suggestions?

Have you added the VNX array and RP appliances to AppSync?

AppSync does not use RecoverPoint to discover an application, it will map the LUNs from the application back to the storage array, so that is why the array itself needs to be added to AppSync.

Also, what kind of service plan, bronze, silver, or gold, are you using? What is the storage preference set to?

Yes, both VNX's and both RPA clusters are added to AppSync and discovery works fine

It seems to be the LUN mapping process that is failing according to the logs but it does not say why.

I have used the Silver plan (remote copy) as the template for the service plans.  Currently Snapshot but I have also tried Bookmark which did not seem to make much difference.

For the silver plan, you should ensure bookmark is the top of the list. Are you able to take a bronze plan with snapshot at the top? This would be taking a local array based copy, leaving out RP.

I recommend opening a support case.
