x17 R2, shut off and won’t respond

Looking for advice as to what to do; I’ve had this x17 r2 for a month or so now. Plugged it into a new power source (same voltage as the one it’s been on) and it ran just fine for about half an hour. Then the battery icon (at ~97%) began flashing from charging to not charging every few seconds for about 5 minutes, and then the whole thing powered off all at once. No lights, no sound, no response at all to anything. Have tried doing a power flush (with battery disconnected), using its old power source, trying a few different outlets/cords, and trying to power it on with just the old power cord and no battery to no avail. No prior issues at all. Wondering if this new cord I bought could be faulty and what I should do (try installing a new motherboard, send to Dell for repairs/replacement, etc.)?

Hi @Arkos welcome to this free user to user Alienware laptop discussion forum.

After the first 30 days the Reject option is invalid, and the Dell warranty is enabled. Dell Refund policy, New vs Refurbished - Dell Community

If Alienware X17 R2 purchased with Dell warranty (check invoice), please visit your online Dell account and create Service Request so that Dell Support 'officially' knows that there is a problem to fix.

You can request free replacement refurbished ac adapter and/or new battery within the first‑year warranty.

Dell Technical Support will process your Service Request and might organise return of Alienware X17 R2 to be replaced with refurbished laptop or parts. Dell will delete the contents of your drives to the "as delivered" content. Advocate creation of clone (copy) of OS(C:) boot drive so that standby C: drive can be swapped in without having to register all your applications. The Macrium Software | Reflect Free Home Edition is a good cloning application.

Update = After verifying ownership and completing troubleshooting, a DELL agent setup service which resolved the issue.
