x17 R2, LCD panel upgrade from FHD to UHD?
Alienware x17 R2
Hi guys,
My Alienware x17 R2 has the 360Hz FHD LCD panel. I love it. But now that the x17 R2 could be ordered with a 4K G-Sync 120Hz LCD panel, is it possible to upgrade my system?
Is it possible, at least, to know which Dell part number has the new 4K LCD panel? Which is the manufacturer?

Is it possible, yes. We provided the online x17 R2 Service Manual.
Can Dell Spare Parts sell you the LCD, unknown. Give them a call, 1-800-357-3355.
x17 R2 LCD panel part numbers =
JKTMH Compal, Non Touch, 17.3", 500 nits, UHD, 120Hz, Antiglare, EDP1.4, Camera, Infrared, with FPC Cable

I do not recognize B173ZAN03.5 as a Dell part number? PV7KJ is a sub part number of J28HT which is the 4K UHD LCD AUO only for the Precision 7760.
x17 R1 4K LCD part number = P9TCN 17.3", UHD, 120Hz, Compal
x17 R2 4K LCD part number = JKTMH 17.3", UHD, 120Hz, Compal

Hi guys, I finally received an offer from Dell to buy the "JKTMH" kit. Well, the upgrade is definitely possible, but wow, they asked me 1700€! So, no, no upgrade for me. Thanks for your attention.

Most of the time you will also have to upgrade the display cable when you upgrade the display so just check this before going ahead. Your original display cable may not be able to push 4k so the image will be distorted.

I'm in Italy, I don't think here Dell sells spare parts. I probably need to find a screen elsewhere, but with those codes I cannot find anything. I only found one with code PV7KJ (B173ZAN03.5) which I think it's the one for the x17 r1.

Which is the customer code of the R2 4k display? Is it the same of the R1? The R2 one has the g-sync activated. Is this code correct? B173ZAN03.5

Hi, thanks for the reply. The code "B173ZAN03.5" is not a Dell code, but the product code of the display manufactured by AUO. I'm trying to figure out if this screen is the same one mounted on the R1 because if so I could buy it not from Dell and change it by myself. What is certain is that I would prefer to be able to find the entire kit with code "JKTMH" because it includes everything and would be easier to assemble. I just don't know where to buy the "JKTMH" kit.

Talked with a Dell commercial and he said that there are no JKTMH kit available until December.

Hello, Guys can somebody please give me the name of QHD 1440p 17,3 panel is now avaliable for x17 R2...? Thanks so much beacuse I cant find any info of that panel and I want to swap from FHD
