x17 R1, WOL (wake on lan) ?

Hi, I have an Alienware x17 R1 with ethernet connected and I want to enable WOL to remote access to it. I tried enabling everything packet-related, disabling EEE, giga lite, green ethernet, etc, I also checked the "allow this device to turn on..." thing, unchecked fast start-up, but no works.

Before that, I did some research and found out that there should be an option to enable WOL and disable deep-sleep in BIOS, but I couldn't find it.

I'm kind of stuck right now. Do you have any suggestions for this?

To enable Wake-on-LAN (WoL) on some Laptop models for remote access, you need to configure both the BIOS and the operating system (Windows)
1. BIOS Configuration:
Access BIOS: Restart your computer and press the appropriate key (usually F2, DEL, or F10) to enter the BIOS setup.
Locate Power Management: Navigate to the "Power" or "Power Management" section within the BIOS.
Enable Wake-on-LAN: Find the "Wake on LAN" or similar option and enable it.
Disable Deep Sleep (Optional): Some systems have a "Deep Sleep" or similar option that can prevent WoL. Disable it if available.
Save and Exit: Save the changes and exit the BIOS setup.
2. Windows Configuration:
Open Device Manager: Press the Windows key, type "Device Manager," and open the application.
Expand Network Adapters: Expand the "Network adapters" section.
Select Ethernet Adapter: Right-click on your Ethernet adapter and select "Properties".
Go to Power Management Tab: Navigate to the "Power Management" tab.
Enable Wake-up Options: Check the boxes for "Allow this device to wake the computer" and "Only allow a magic packet to wake the computer".
Save Changes: Click "OK" to save the changes.

3. Additional Considerations:
Firewall: Ensure that your firewall isn't blocking the magic packet (port 7).
Network Switch: Your network switch needs to support WoL and forward the magic packet.
MAC Address: You'll need the MAC address of your network adapter to send the magic packet.
Software: You can use software like Wolow or PDQ Inventory to send the magic packet.
Troubleshooting: If WoL doesn't work, check the BIOS settings, network adapter properties, and firewall settings.

Not all AW Laptops have WOL in the BIOS. I checked last night and the x17 R1 does not. Versus say the m18 R2 that does. My Apologies!!

Please Dell, add it to the bios. I need it too. It's an option in the network card but not in bios...
