x16 R1, plugged in, LCD bloom

EXACT same problem on Alienware X16 R1, happened about 3 months ago, out of 8 months I've had the laptop. Still IN WARRANTY, apparently this might fall under "electrical accidents" clause in the warranty, when I literally plugged my brick in, then into laptop, then this happened. My motherboard isn't dead, but I have a red-ish bloom in the LCD now. I actually requested a return 3 weeks after having this, but didn't return due to needing laptop for work and a family death that occured the same month. Now, I may not get anything fixed, even though it's in warranty, and I have the terrible LCD bloom and other issues noted in the original return request.

Rather than speculate on what they might or might not cover with the warranty, or post a reference for a much older system that has a totally different failure than your system, why not contact Dell for a repair?  Unless it's evident there is physical damage to the system, or you're holding out for a replacement system you are not going to get, the warranty should cover a screen replacement if the fault is due other than to physical damage to the system.
