x15 R2, outside warranty, motherboard
Traveling from US to EU, my laptop lost power while connected to a TV (via USB C to USB A). Dell service refused to diagnose/repair because I’m out of warranty, even if I told them that I am paying the cost. The next local service shop I went to asked me to go on my own online and buy another motherboard. Now it’s in another service shop and they can’t find parts to fix it.
Please, advise!

Hi
So what is the problem?
Smoke, flame, dead screen, howling like a banshee or something else?
Some times a battery can discharge and refuse to co-operate. It needs the device to run/start with the battery dis-connected.
Turn OFF. Connect Battery and re-try.
If in doubt please ask.

Hi! Thank you for your interest!
The problem is that the laptop did nothing, no sound, no lights, nothing, either it was plugged in or unplugged.
Now it’s in a local service and they called me yesterday to say they have no parts to fix it, so, I will need to pick it up, still not in working condition.

There are boards available for this model
https://www.parts-people.com/index.php?action=item&id=41121
parts-people.com charges about $100 for labor to replace and offers a 1-year warranty on the repair.

Thank you! I am in EU and I need my laptop and info before returning in US.
The service center said I need the PUA1 from the motherboard.
Can parts be purchased at that scale?

No. You'll likely have to have the shop source a board that's died from some other cause and salvage the component. Microscale parts like that are generally unavailable unless you live in an area with large scale notebook manufacturing -- i.e., Southeast China.
