x14 r2, microphone and speaker mute keys are not working
Hi all!
Today I noticed that the mute microphone and mute speaker keys on my laptop have stopped working. Every other key on my keyboard works fine, including the volume up/volume down keys. I’m on BIOS version 1.30.1, and all my drivers are up to date, including the new AWCC update that just came out today. So far I’ve tried restarting the Realtek Audio Universal Service in services.msc, uninstalling and reinstalling AWCC, uninstalling and reinstalling the Realtek Audio drivers (version 6.0.9738.1), and disabling fn lock, and nothing’s worked. What should I do?
Thanks in advance!

Contact Dell GHN (Get Help Now) chat technical support Monday through Friday. Click the blue "Get Help Now" on the right to start a private live chat session. Share the private Service Tag with them so that they can verify the ownership and warranty status. This will also generate a unique Technical Support case for your unique Service Tag. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offerings.
I'd recommend running the preboot diagnostic and doing a keyboard test. Since this is outside of the OS, it'll let you know if you're having a hardware or software issue.
If the keys are responding in the diags, then the hardware is functional. If the keys are not responding, then it would seem to be a premature keyboard failure. Support should be able to help narrowing down software or hardware. Here are some other drivers to try though:
Keyboard Firmware Update
Intel HID Event Filter Driver
Intel Serial IO Driver

@DELL-Daniel V Thanks for responding! Not sure what I did, it seems like the issue’s resolved itself and both keys are working fine now.
