Re: m17 R2, repasted, wifi option has disappeared

The title basically says it all - I took apart my Alienware m17r2 (out of warranty - 5 years old) to replace the thermal paste. When I reassembled everything and turned it on, everything runs smoothly; however, there is no wifi option. I have made sure all cables are connected, and the antenna cables are properly snapped in (they made the "click" sound).

In "Network Drivers" under "Network Adapters", I don't see any Wi-Fi adapter. 

I've also tried several software fixes - network reset, find missing adapters etc.

Has anyone else faced this issue before, and have any idea as to how to fix it?
