It seems like your Alienware Pro Wireless Headset mic is limited to low-quality audio (tape recorder quality), which might be caused by driver settings, audio configurations, or firmware conflicts. Here’s how to fix it:

Steps to Resolve the Issue

1. Check Windows Audio Input Settings

  • Go to Settings > System > Sound > Input.
  • Select your Alienware Pro Wireless Headset as the input device.
  • Click on Device Properties and check if the input format is set to a high-quality mode (e.g., 16-bit, 44100 Hz or higher).

2. Disable Exclusive Mode

  • Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar and select Sounds.
  • Go to the Recording tab, select your headset, and click Properties.
  • Under the Advanced tab, uncheck Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device.

3. Update Audio Drivers
Even if your drivers are up to date, a reinstallation can help:

  1. Go to Device Manager and expand Sound, video, and game controllers.
  2. Right-click your headset and select Uninstall device.
  3. Restart your computer, and the drivers should reinstall automatically. Alternatively, download the latest drivers from Dell's support page.

4. Reset AWCC (Alienware Command Center)

  • Uninstall AWCC and the Alienware Sound Center.
  • Restart your system.
  • Reinstall AWCC and any associated audio software to ensure proper firmware communication.

5. Test with a Different USB Port or Device

  • Try connecting the USB dongle to a different port (preferably USB 3.0).
  • Test the headset with another device (e.g., a laptop) to rule out hardware issues.

6. Perform a Factory Reset of the Headset
If the problem persists, reset your headset to factory defaults (refer to the user manual for instructions).

If none of these steps resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Dell Support or the Alienware Community for further assistance. It could also be a hardware-related problem requiring repair or replacement.

Let us know how it goes!

@DELL-Ayush so I've found it's only in wireless mode that tape recorder is the only option if it's wired i can increase the quality.  I'm assuming this is by design or a windows 11 limitation? Dongle is connected via usbc port.
