m18 R2, slow with the two M.2 2230
I have a problem with my Alienware M18R2.
I was using it with two M.2 2280 Samsung 980 Pro 2Tb and everything was working perfectly. Very quick, fast transfers.
When I was opening Disk Management it was immediate.
I recently bought two new SSDs M.2 2230 Crucial P310 1Tb and I was very disappointed by the transfer rates and the temperatures of the new SSDs (about 80°C). Moreover, my computer was slower and the Disk Management quite slow with approximately 15-20s to appear. I thought that it was due to that specific model of M.2 2230 SSDs then I return them back and bought 2 Western Digital SSDs M.2 2230 SN770M. The temperatures are much more "normal" with 65°C but I'm still disappointed because the whole laptop is not as fast as before et the Disk Management is always slow.
I suspect a problem of driver or BIOS. Have you ever had that sort of problem with yours ?
Regards,
Guillaume

Even 50C is high for an SSD -- 65 is up there and 80+ is unacceptable.
The 2230 SSDs have that much less thermal mass to dissipate heat -- you may be better off with M.2 2280 drives.

@ejn63 that's quite high you're right but it is with high transfers (>700Gb). I have searched on the web and it seems that M.2 2230 are much more hot than M.2 2280.
When they are not working, the temperature is about 46-49 °C.
