m17 R5, not detecting M.2 in slot 2

Which Graphics card do you have in the laptop? Also did you order the system with 2 M.2 drives?

I have the all amd system 6900HX + 6850M I purchased it with one 1TB SSD M.2

Are you trying to add a second M.2 SSD otherwise I am not sure why you would move the only SSD you have to slot 2?

I have purchased a second m.2 for slot 2 additional to the stock m.2 in slot one . At first I thought it was the m.2 but I put it in slot 1 and it's recognized and put the stock one in slot 2 where it's not recognized. I reset the laptop did a clean install of windows updated all the drivers but no go if I swap the m.2 it shows but neither shows up in slot 2

What did you add, M.2 2230 or M.2 2280?

Both are 2280 . Neither works in the secondary slot only in the primary slot (1)

Have you tried making sure that the M.2 slot is working fine and not dead as that would've caused the issue.

The Alienware m17 R5 AMD Storage says M.2 SSD PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe, speed is up to 64 Gbps (64,000 MB/s).

The Crucial System Advisor tool has database of M.2 cards that have been tested to work within the Alienware m17 R5 AMD's internal slots: see Alienware Alienware m17 R5 | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com, these M.2 SSD PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe cards have speeds of up to 6600 MB/s Read, and 5000 MB/s Write. 

It is strange that your SSD2 M.2 NVMe card slot speed is only 600 MB/s. 

Hopefully this system has Dell warranty, please visit your online Dell account and create Service Request to officially tell Dell Support there is a problem to fix. Dell Technical Support should then request online session so that they can use their diagnostic tools to investigate software issue and/or hardware issue that requires installation of fully certified working refurbished replacement parts. 

I bought a wb black 770 and now getting speed as advertised put the other drive (Adata) in my Ps5 and now getting advertised speeds my only problem now is the BIOS doesn't let me select Raid

Do you have any other drives to do a RAID setup? I think if my knowledge serves me that if one drive is in the system then RAID isn't avalible.

There are 2 drives in the system the issue I was having originally was with my second drive
