m17 R?, SSD replacement issues
So I’m trying to upgrade my m.2 from a 128Gb to one terabyte and when I remove my secondary storage m.2 from the computer it no longer boots and says there is a boot drive fail. Put it It back in and good again it is not set up as a RAID so have no clue why it is happening. Also decided to try and do a fresh install of win 11 and says my computer doesn’t meet min requirements/specs. I7 9th gen and 64 GB of ram no clue why that’s happening either. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Best thing to do is to use a disk cloning tool (with the NVME m.2 drive in an external drive holder) and clone contents of the 128 GB drive to the 1 TB drive. I did this exact thing the other day with two old "non-compliant" PCs upgraded to Windows 11 24H2 and it worked like a charm. In your case, it is literally a one-for-one swap and can be accomplished in about an hour. I used Macrium Reflect, which may or may not be available for free (since they're replacing it with a new product), but you should give it a shot. There are a number of free disk cloning tools on the market. Best of luck!

You should also be aware that you can only update an NVME drive with another one and, likewise, a SATA 3 drive with another one of the same type. From your specs, it sounds like you have an m15 R2 and I'm not sure whether Dell offered those with NVME drives or SATA3 (It makes all the difference when updating).
