m16 R2, Valorant game crash

I’ve recently purchased Dell Alienware m16 R2. I am trying to play Valorant game since the day I bought it. But the thing is every time I open Valorant, the game runs for 2 minutes and suddenly a pop up “Network Problem” appears on my top right corner in the game and suddenly the game crashes. I know it is due to the internet issues, but when I look at control tab in home screen I couldn’t find a WiFi option in the tab. I think the WiFi network drivers are crashing everytime I try to play the game and later on the restore back when I restart the game. I don’t have any internet issues with any other devices or other games, just this game. I hope you can help me out with this problem as quick as possible. Please reply me with a message that you can’t solve it so that I can return this product get a different laptop.

It seems like the Wi-Fi driver or network card might be causing the issue with Valorant. While I understand how frustrating this can be, here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot before considering a return:

  1. Update Network Drivers:

    • Visit Dell Support and enter your Service Tag.
    • Download and install the latest Wi-Fi and chipset drivers.

  2. Network Reset:

    • In Windows, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings.
    • Select Network reset and restart your system.

  3. Check Firewall and Antivirus:

    • Ensure Valorant and the Riot Client are added as exceptions in your firewall and antivirus software.

  4. Disable Game Overlays:

    • Overlays (e.g., Discord, Xbox Game Bar) can sometimes interfere with games. Disable them temporarily and test.

  5. Test Another Network:

    • If possible, connect to a different Wi-Fi network to see if the issue persists.

The official troubleshooting guide for Valorant. I was expecting a better one, but that is what they use.

Game crashes are typically not due to connectivity issues.

I would look in Windows Event Viewer to determine the cause of the sudden game crash. It should be logged there.

Abhishek mentioned that Valorant displays a network error during gameplay. Typically, this error does not crash the game but instead provides the option to quit.

This issue could stem from a variety of factors:

  • Incorrect DNS settings
  • WiFi driver-related issues

Let's wait for the user to share additional details about their network and if they tried steps given by me. This will help us narrow down the root cause.
