m16 R1, side mute and microphone buttons on the keyboard stopped working

After updating all drivers, the microphone and sound mute buttons on the right side of the keyboard stopped working. Tell me how to fix it? All drivers work normally and stably, but now the keys on the keyboard do not turn off the sound completely, and the microphone does not turn off either.

Same problem, I have faced. 2-month-old laptop and the Mute button and Microphone button are not working. Dell pls suggest

@VINITA WIN​ This happened to me after the update I installed via Alienware Update, BIOS, and other new drivers were installed and the buttons stopped working...

I have a same problem with my M15  R7. The mute speakers key do not working. The Dell Support will replace my keyboard. :((

Do all of you have the latest BIOS installed?

If not, could you please update your system to the latest BIOS version and let us know if that resolves the issue for you?

Hi! I know it might sound obvious, but have you restarted your computer after the BIOS update?

Also, could you please confirm if your laptop is still under warranty? This way, I can determine the best course of action, whether it's contacting support or trying some different steps.

Hi all,

The team is aware that this issue is affecting many users. They are currently working on a long-term fix.


For now, please use the mute on the taskbar (when tapped the volume mute button becomes white with an x next to the speaker).
