m16 R1, BIOS 1.24 → Battery Gaming Shutdown + 4 Red 1 Blue Error

Hi everyone,

I have an Alienware m16 R1 that worked perfectly until I updated to BIOS 1.24. After this update, the laptop immediately shuts off when running games or heavy GPU workloads on battery, though it runs fine when plugged in. I also get a 4 red, 1 blue diagnostic LED code under load.

Here’s what I’ve already tried:

• Replaced battery, DC jack, battery cable, and charger
• Updated all drivers
• Reset EC / BIOS defaults & Updating to 1.25
• Ran ePSA diagnostics (no errors)
• Tuned ICCMAX, PL1, PL2, and limited cores using Intel XTU → partial mitigation but root issue remains

The problem started only after BIOS 1.24, and I’ve confirmed rollback is blocked.

My questions:

1. Has anyone else faced this issue on BIOS 1.24?
2. Is there a known Dell-provided rollback package or hotfix?
3. Any additional mitigation tips?

I’ve already opened a Dell support ticket, but I wanted to check with the community as well. Any help is appreciated!
