m15 R7, not starting

Besides physical damages, a year old battery should not kept the laptop from powering on.  But, you already tested without the battery and nothing.  It could be the DC in power jack or motherboard.  Since it's a hardware issue and needing part for repair/replacement, time to click on Get Help Now.

Just wanted to eliminate the battery as the culprit.  I've got a return ticket to Dell in the works.  I broke into a cold sweat just thinking  about the cost of replacing a mobo. A DC jack is a much better thing to have replaced! Thanks for the thoughts.

Laptop is back from Dell. Heatsink replaced. Main Logic Board Replaced. Operating System Reinstall.

For $129 did Dell replace the motherboard? I would have thought it would be a lot more expensive. Anyway, before the problem, I had installed a SK Hynix Platinum SSD and put the OS on it.  Dell reinstalled the OS on the other smaller SSD drive...and left the Hynix for storage... I m going to leave it for now and hope I don't have any more issues for awhile.

My older Dell xps 1521 (11 years old?) keeps going and has not been sent in for repairs once. Okay, so the keypad is having some issues....but it runs well for its age ( - =  I am pleased with Dell's service and quality of product.

Now I have two red and eight blue flashing....Dell says send it in again. Will they expedite it on their own dime. Probably not. Here we go again.

Laptop is back from repairs. Main logic board replaced and OS reinstalled. OS put on the SK Hynix.  All is going well now with the laptop.  Have a great day!
