m15 R7, boot warning and error when using it with the WD19TBS dock
Hello,
I am using the m15 R7 for my daily work, and everything works fine until I connect the <Docks are not supported on Alienware Laptops. DELL-Admin> WD19TBS dock, which is always attached to the laptop. After restarting the laptop, I always get the error message: 'You have attached a power adapter to a port that does not accept power. Attach a power adapter to your system's power port.' This is quite annoying when starting up. I have gone into the [Pre-boot behavior] in the BIOS,
> disabled [Enable Adapter Warning],
> disabled [Enable Dock Warning Messages],
> selected [Continue on Warning] in [Warning and Errors].
but nothing changed.
I would like to ask if there is a way to permanently disable this error message? And if I always have to press "continue" button during startup, will it affect my laptop?
Help me. Thank you guys very much.

To provide more information about my issue, I am using a separate 240W power supply for the dock and a separate 240W power supply for my laptop. I do not use a shared power source.

The main reason you received annoying error warning message was due to underpower, unsupported docking station. Dell actually excluded their Alienware laptops from all previous docking stations compatibility.
It seems like you already adjust settings for all available options. Usually, if the laptop power adapter was plugged in prior to docking start up, that should keep it from triggering the error warning message. However, pressing continue to acknowledge and bypass error message should not affect your laptop performance or power (you can tell if CPU downclocked to below 1 GHz and battery not charging).

@Chino de Oro Thank for your answer. So does that mean I have to accept pressing continue every time I start up the laptop? And this will not affect my power source. I’ve checked all the hardware, and everything passed with no issues. When using the battery, it still charges fully. It's just that this notification keeps popping up, which is a bit annoying

For error message, did you test with the laptop plugged in prior to connecting to docking station and powering up?
For power safety, laptops were designed with protections to accept preset limit power and takes in only the power it needs. When your laptop detects two power sources, it switches to the main DC in from laptop power adapter. However, under certain heavy load, it will draw power from both: power adapter and battery.
Still, officially, Dell does not cover warranty for any damage from unsupported usages. This is my personal experience comment only.

@Chino de Oro I asked AI for advice, and it guided me to connect the power source first, then the Type-C port, so the laptop would recognize the power as the main source and avoid the error message. However, that didn't work. But if I can use the dock for Alienware without issue. I’ve fixed it by connecting the dock’s power to an outlet with a switch. Then, I turn on my laptop first and wait until it reaches the Windows login screen, and only then do I turn on the dock's power. This way, the error message no longer appears

Chino is correct in our policy stance =
* Go back to the top of the Laptops --> Alienware board
* Open, "FAQ Alienware Laptops"
* Read, "Alienware Laptops, no dock support"
