m15 R3, no sound output device found, #2
Grrr. Is there a fix for the 'No Audio Output Detected' issue plaguing the m15 R3 laptops? This model typically comes with the Realtek ALC3281-CG device. Audio still works with HDMI and Bluetooth, but not onboard speakers or headphones. I have wasted so much time trying to recover from this issue that assumingly occurred after an automatic update.

Hi
Hope this helps...
Go to Device Manager (right-click Start > Device Manager).
Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
Uninstall all audio devices (e.g., Realtek, Intel SST, NVIDIA audio).
Restart your laptop.
Download & install the latest drivers for the Alienware m15 R3 from Dell’s official support page
