Faulty USB preventing Laptop from booting?
So I have run into a strange error. Seemingly randomly, my laptop refused to boot. No automatic start, no cold start. The only thing that fixed it was removing a USB bluetooth mouse connector, after which the computer loaded into automatic repair. Automatic repair did not fix any issues, so I skipped repair and continued to Windows 11 and now everything seems to be working fine. Has anyone else run into this?

Yes, I’ve faced this problem before on my old laptop. Sometimes a faulty or misbehaving USB device, can prevent the system from booting properly. The BIOS may get stuck trying to read it as a bootable device, which causes the startup to hang or trigger repair mode. Removing the USB device usually fixes the issue and lets Windows start normally.

Dell GHN (Get Help Now) chat technical support must verify the ownership and warranty status. Click the blue "Get Help Now" on the right to start a private live chat session. Share the private Service Tag with them.
Go HERE. Insert the private Service Tag number to check the warranty status. Then tell our users out here which specific PC model you have there.
