Dell Wiped My Laptop

I sent my Alienware laptop to get the cooling unit replaced by dell since they wouldn't sell the part to my computer repair man. When I got my laptop back the entire thing was wiped clean and I lost everything, is there any way I can get my files back? All my pictures and work was on it. To my knowledge no one from Dell even mentioned anything about it. When my computer guy got it back he booted it up and had to install windows because there wasn't a thing on it. I don't know much about computers but I can't see how replacing the cooling unit would wipe the entire thing?

You can try running a recovery utility such as Recuva, but the chances of recovering everything are slim to none.

I doubt Dell would have erased the drive -- they might have reloaded a factory image, but not left the drive blank.

I asked my computer guy, and he said it was Bitlocked when the component was put in, I'm not really sure how that works. Can it be recovered somehow?

If the OS was reinstalled, someone wiped the drive to do it -- you can ask for a data recovery service such as Gillware for their opinion, but I suspect they'll tell you no -- whatever was on the drive is gone.
