Dell Repairs Broke My Laptop
Well I don't know that posting here will do any good, but I have seen some similar stories and would like to add mine to the pool.
Long story short, Dell repairs broke my laptop. I have an Alienware A51m R2, which I sent in to Dell for repairs about a week ago (I'm out of warranty). The VGA fan was not responding and would speed up to 100% even when temps were in normal range. The noise made the computer practically unusable. So, I paid for the Dell express repair mail-in service, because I am a student and this is a really inopportune time for my main computer to not work. The repairs were quick and my computer was returned about a week after I sent it in.
As soon as I picked my laptop up and booted it up for the first time - no video. Well, that's interesting because I have never, ever had an issue with the graphics on this laptop. I called Dell's out of warranty technical support and was told that I would need to send the laptop in (again) for repairs and pay for it as well. I was told that this couldn't possibly be Dell's fault because this is a software issue, while my initial issue was hardware related, so it must be a coincidence. After doing some reading, it seems that not taking accountability for botched repairs is just part of Dell's common practice. I will not be paying more money to fix what Dell broke and play into the sunk cost fallacy. I asked to speak with a supervisor but I doubt that this call back, if it even happens, will fix my issue. My only idea now is to log a complaint with an agency, shell out a couple thousand more for a Lenovo or Acer, and never purchase from Dell again. If anyone has ideas for a nice non-Dell gaming laptop, I'd love to hear them.

Did Dell tell you what the first issue was? It sounds exactly like one of the symptoms to the Support Assist issue which some systems get. Just uninstalling Support Assist fixes that but maybe there was a hardware issue that they 'fixed'.
If they are now telling you that this display issue is software related then reinstalling Windows should fix that. There would be no reason to send it in. It doesn't sound software related though.
have you tried connecting an external monitor to see if you get a display?
