AW510H headset doesn't show in AWCC

I just found out that this headset is supposed to have settings in the control centre for 7.1? What the heck. I've tried reinstalling this garbage software like 3 times over a few years and it never works. There's supposed to be settings under the FX tab? How do I get that to work? I'm hooked up with USB and this has never worked.

Hey @Sifujon, everthing good? So, maybe the issue is about the drivers, a Windows driver could be overriding the device one, so AWCC is not detecting it.

You can check it by following this steps:

  • Open Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager).

  • Expand Sound, video and game controllers.

  • Look for your headset.

    • If it says "USB Audio Device": This is the problem.

    • If it says "Alienware AW510H": The driver is present, but the AWCC service isn't talking to it.

If it is "USB Audio Device", the generic one, try downloading and installing the device driver directly from the Dell Support Page.

Also, when you tried to reinstall the AWCC, did you do it like in this video? There are some steps that make it a "clean installation", which should resolve any bugs or issues with it.

Hope it helps! 😁

Ya sorry I was in a bad mood there. Still am, but less so. I removed the old files like in the video, and also ran 2 separate uninstall programs to make sure all the Alienware stuff was gone. Then I reinstalled the Command Centre, and now it won't even recognize my headset at all lol. I did check in the device manager and it still says "Alienware 510H".

Then I reinstalled the Command Centre

Which version of AWCC did you install?

The AWCC 6.x versions will not work with Alienware Peripherals AW510H, AW988 headsets/AW568, AW768 keyboards/AW558, AW958, AW959 mice.

The online AW510H page shows the re-released AWCC 5.10.2.0.

I used the week-old "Alienware Command Center 5.x - Full Installer" from the AW510H all available drivers page: https://www.dell.com/support/product-details/en-ca/product/alienware-gaming-headset-510h-7.1/drivers. Followed all the instructions and did a reset. Sound still comes through the headphones and I can use them, just the command center doesn't recognize any Alienware hardware upon opening the application.
