AW510H headphones, AWCC 6.x not compatible

Hello,

I own a pair of Alienware AW510H headphones, which only work correctly with Alienware Command Center version 5.x. Unfortunately, these headphones are not compatible with version 6.x of the app. The issue is that, right after installing version 5.x, it automatically upgrades to version 6.x, and the app either stops functioning correctly or fails to detect the headset properly.

Additionally, I encountered another major issue: after Alienware Command Center auto-updated to version 6.x, the app shortcut disappeared, I could no longer open the software, and I couldn't uninstall it, not even using tools like Revo Uninstaller – it gives the error: "Wizard was interrupted before Alienware Command Center could be completely removed.".

Could you please advise if there is a way to:

  1. Prevent Alienware Command Center from auto-updating.

  2. Keep and use version 5.x.

  3. Completely remove version 6.x from my system.

Correct. The online AW510H Drivers & Downloads page only shows AWCC 5.x =

Read = Certain Alienware Accessories are Not Detected in Alienware Command Center v6.0 or later

To prevent Alienware Command Center (AWCC) from auto-updating, you can disable updates in the Microsoft Store. You can also try blocking AWCC from connecting to the internet with a firewall rule or by blocking the awcc.exe process. Some users have reported issues when blocking AWCC from updating, like being forced to sign into Microsoft.
Here's a more detailed breakdown of the options:
1. Disabling Microsoft Store Updates:
Go to the Microsoft Store and click on your profile icon in the upper right corner.
Select "App settings".
Toggle off the "App updates" option.

To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them.  Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offering.

@DELL-Jesse L I followed your instructions exactly: I disabled Microsoft Store updates and added a new firewall rule to block AWCC. I did this after completely uninstalling AWCC 6.x from my PC, and I also deleted the folders from %appdata%, %programdata%, C:\Program Files\Alienware, and cleaned up entries in the Registry Editor.

However, it still didn’t work. Even with the firewall rule in place, when I installed AWCC 5.x, it got installed as AWCC 6.x directly.
