Area-51m R2, turned on message, Battery Over temperature is detected
I returned home, turned on my laptop and got the following message. I turned the AC. The laptop was shut down and there was a few hours before I returned home then got the message. I take its a faulty battery and does Dell cover if I have basic warranty?

Hi @Nicholasf88 welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.
The main battery has Dell warranty for first year only, included in all variants of Dell warranty. Please contact @DELL-Cares by Private Message who can assist with arrangements for installation of new OEM battery and safe disposal of old battery.
Please click on Product Support which has your system's link to Contact Technical Support and Get Help Now icon in RH of this webpage, to have online chat.
Dell documentation includes how to safely handle swollen and leaking batteries. Damage to laptop parts is also included in Dell warranty. Removing Base cover does not invalidate Dell warranty. Swollen and/or leaking battery is safety hazard and should be carefully removed and put into sealed dry storage away from living environment and people.
