Area 51 18in BIOS and CPU options?
I am in the market for a new machine and I am tussling between the Area 51 18in model, 275HX 5090 and the Legion Pro 7i.
Doing a lot of digging on them both they're amazing machines, though I see that the AW has a very locked down BIOS and even has undervolting locked down.
Something to do with AWCC messing with tables between profiles?
Honestly, it's the one negative I can think of towards this machine. Only MSI offer RAM tuning, it can be accessed on the Lenovo with the right tools but the AW seems to fall short here. Are there any options for a custom mode that allows the use of Throttlestop to properly tweak settings? I know there's not much headroom stock, but 50mv on all cores adds up, so does the cache. Throw in NGU and D2D tweaks and it makes a big over all difference.
So, the question is, are there actually updates in the pipeline for these features... can they be requested and taken seriously?
Legion offer LLC and CPU UV/OC in BIOS stock, it might not seem like much, but these simple tweaks mean a lot to those in the know.

If you're looking for that flexibility, historically Dell/Alienware have not offered it. I would not expect it in the future.
If you're looking for the ultimate in user control, it's to be found in "boutique" systems (AVA, Sager, Falcon Northwest, OriginPC, etc.) -- all of which sell notebooks made by Clevo as "whitebooks".
