Alienware 0X07NC Motherboard maximum RAM
Hello,
I want to upgrade my Alienware 16 laptop RAM from 16GB to 32GB but I want to make sure it can support it before I buy it.
It's a 64-bit system, uses DDR4 SODIMM.
The processor is Intel Core i7 6820HK.
The motherboard model is Alienware 0X07NC. I could not find any specifications for this motherboard online, nor a manual.
Can you advise on how I can check what the maximum supported RAM would be for this motherboard?
Thank you.

Okay, so I've found out my Service Tag and Express Service Code. The PC model is Alienware 15 R2 now that I checked using the Service Tag. Thank you all for the guidance and links that helped me check my codes and model.

Based on that information the specs here state 16GB DDR4 2133 RAM as a configuration supported. But that is a bit vague so checking with Crucial here, they state the maximum as 32GB with a 16GB module in each SODIMM slot. And Crucial guarantees compatibility so you can confidently use their specs.

Neither 0X07N or X07NC appear in the Dell database. Check the rear label or in the BIOS for the private Dell Service Tag. Enter that private Dell Service Tag here. Then tell us which model.

@DELL-Chris M is spot on that unless you post a correct model number it is almost impossible to correctly look up the specs for your system. Having said that could it possibly be a 17 R3 model? If so then the Dell specs call for a maximum of 16GB of RAM but Crucial here does list 32 GB as a compatible total amount of RAM. Again a pure guess based on your CPU.

Hi @Kliment welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.
Seemingly Alienware 16 laptop and/or Motherboard DP/N 0X07NC do not exist, Replacement Dell Laptop part 0X07NC does not exist (parts-people.com).
With this laptop online, please click on Product Support so that Dell can identify your system Model and Revision number, example x17 R2. (For your own protection, do not share your private System Service Tag or Express Service Code in this public forum.)
Visit Crucial System Advisor's database to get supported Memory RAM. Crucial Advisor tool | Crucial.com

I'm using the CPU-ID software to check my machine's specs:
This is where I'm getting the motherboard model. Is this the correct way of checking it?
I cannot find a Dell support label on the back to locate this number.

Hi @Kliment alternatively please download and run the Belarc Advisor utility. In RH column, look under System Model for your Alienware Model and Revision number, and your private Dell System Service Tag. Download Belarc Advisor - MajorGeeks. Watch Belarc Advisor Walkthrough - YouTube.
Please copy and paste your private Dell System Service Tag into Product Support to get Dell Support's drivers, documentation, etc. for your system.
