17 R4, on battery, lighting issue

Ok so I’m having a lighting issue. so my problem is when it’s plugged in all the keyboard lights work and look amazing. but the issue is when I unplug it all the lights go extremely dim and awcc is turned on under battery for fx. I have looked under the battery settings for the laptop and everything is set to best performance and I’m at a loss because I can’t figure it out. any advice would be greatly appreciate.
